Tally — project preview

01   brief

The context.

An idea of ours, actually built. An AI app to manage receipts, invoices and expenses — both personal and for VAT-registered businesses. A saturated market, but full of players designed for accountants, not for humans. We wanted something for people who *hate* managing expenses.

02   challenge

The challenges.

Standing out among the big names (Splitwise, Soldo, Pleo). A model that works for consumers and VAT-registered businesses alike. And above all: getting the AI to extract structured data — line items, total, tax category, VAT — from a receipt snapped on the fly.

03   solution

The answer.

A real app, end-to-end: React + Capacitor (iOS + Android), Supabase for data and auth, and receipt scanning with Claude Vision that extracts items, category and VAT in a few seconds. Naming, brand, design system and a working product — home, reports with insights, archive, tax detail.

Tally is the proof that we do for ourselves what we propose to clients: from naming to pricing all the way to code running in your hand. When we work for you, this is where we start.
